Paraplanner

About the role

The Paraplanning team analyses prospective client portfolios to deliver regulated advice on pension transfers, bond surrenders, investment taxation and structure suitability. Reporting to the Team Leader, you will formulate asset allocation recommendations and produce suitability reports.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate client objectives, portfolio holdings, time‑horizon, cash‑flow needs and overall financial situation to recommend suitable asset allocations.
• Review and design plans for clients with highly specialised financial situations.
• Assess existing pension and investment bond arrangements to determine transfer suitability.
• Create and lead training sessions for other groups within the firm as required.
• Participate in ad‑hoc projects aimed at improving group efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with the T&C scheme and regulatory requirements for regulated advice.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Level 4 qualification – CII Regulated Diploma in Financial Planning or CISI Investment Advice Diploma (preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in financial services.
• Strong quantitative ability, accuracy and excellent time‑management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic team environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Fisher portfolio management philosophies.
• Understanding of core financial planning principles and client suitability assessment.
