Part-Time Lecturer for Holocaust History (Fall 2026)

About the role

Dalhousie University is seeking a part‑time academic to teach HIST 3056.03 “The Holocaust: The Destruction of the Jews of Europe” during the Fall 2026 term. The instructor will deliver lectures on Mondays and Wednesdays, guide students through the historical, social, and political contexts of the Holocaust, and support their learning throughout the semester.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver weekly lectures (08:35‑09:55) and lead class discussions.
• Prepare course materials, reading lists, and assessment tools.
• Grade assignments, exams, and provide timely feedback.
• Manage administrative duties related to the course.
• Offer two hours per week of student consultation outside class time.
• Report to the Chair of the History Department.

Required profile

• PhD in History or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated teaching experience in the subject area is preferred.
• Eligibility to work in Canada; Canadian citizens and permanent residents receive priority.
