Part-time Remote Bookkeeper (2‑3 days/week)

About the role

Renew is seeking a diligent Bookkeeper to work 2–3 days per week on a fully remote basis. You will own day‑to‑day bookkeeping, ensuring the company’s accounts are accurate, up‑to‑date and compliant while supporting the finance function’s alignment with business strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records using Xero.
• Process accounts payable and receivable, raise and chase invoices.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and other balance‑sheet items regularly.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC requirements.
• Manage payroll processing or liaise with an external payroll provider.
• Support month‑end close procedures and produce management reports.
• Maintain an organised, audit‑ready filing system for financial documents.
• Liaise with the external accountant as needed.
• Identify and flag financial discrepancies or process improvements.
• Update financial models, such as cash‑flow forecasts, to ensure accurate reporting.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a small‑to‑medium business.
• Proficient with Xero and able to hit the ground running.
• Solid understanding of VAT, bank reconciliation and management accounts.
• AAT qualified (full or part qualification).
• High attention to detail with a methodical, organised approach.
• Comfortable working remotely and managing workload independently.
• Strong communication skills to explain financial matters to non‑finance colleagues.
• Genuine interest in sustainability and alignment with Renew’s mission.
