About the role
We are seeking a senior People & Culture Director to join an ambitious, family‑owned business in Devon. Reporting to the CEO, you will shape people strategy as a core component of business growth while preserving the company’s values‑driven culture.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the full People & Culture agenda, aligning HR initiatives with strategic growth plans.
- Partner closely with the CEO and executive team to influence board‑level decisions.
- Drive employee engagement, leadership capability, and organisational development.
- Mentor and develop a high‑performing People team.
- Maintain a visible, hands‑on presence across the organisation, balancing operational delivery with strategic planning.
- Foster a high‑performance culture while retaining the warmth of a family‑owned business.
Required profile
- Commercially minded HR leader comfortable operating both strategically and tactically.
- Experience in senior HR/People roles within growing businesses, preferably across both larger‑scale and SME environments.
- Proven ability to work at executive and board level and contribute to wider business decisions.
- Collaborative, credible leader who builds relationships at all levels.
- Willingness to work on‑site in Willand, Devon at least three days per week.
