Personal Banker – Full‑time Office‑Based Role

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Personal Banker to join our busy Birmingham branch on a permanent, office‑based basis. You will be the first point of contact for customers, helping them identify financial needs and recommending suitable banking products.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively identify sales opportunities through referrals, internal networks and personal connections.
• Deliver superior customer service via phone, email and in‑branch interactions.
• Handle account opening applications, service requests and AML documentation.
• Process remittances and postal banking services while following operational procedures.
• Maintain accurate cash handling practices, including high‑value transactions and register records.
• Attend business development and networking events to promote branch growth.
• Provide cover for other Personal Bankers or clerical staff as needed.
• Cross‑sell banking products to meet customer needs.

Required profile

• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong sales mindset with the ability to spot and act on opportunities.
• Confident communicator able to build trust and rapport.
• Experience in retail banking or financial services (preferred).
• Organised, detail‑oriented and strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks independently in a fast‑paced branch environment.
• Familiarity with AML procedures and customer onboarding processes (advantageous).
