Physiotherapy Support Worker – Western General Hospital

About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Physiotherapy Teams at the Western General Hospital. The post works alongside physiotherapists on the rehabilitation wards of the Royal Victoria Building, providing care for frail and often acutely unwell elderly patients.

Key responsibilities

• Assist physiotherapists in delivering rehabilitation programmes to elderly patients on acute wards.
• Support front‑door frailty areas, the regional infectious disease unit and Gastro‑Intestinal wards as service needs dictate.
• Teach prescribed exercise programmes and provide gait re‑education.
• Carry out general rehabilitation tasks and associated administrative duties.

Required profile

• Excellent communication and organisational abilities; capable of working independently or as part of a team.
• Experience working on acute hospital wards, particularly with frail elderly or acutely unwell patients.
• Previous experience as a physiotherapy assistant or within the physiotherapy profession is beneficial.
• Current PVG Scheme membership/record and legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
