About the role

Our client, a leading wealth management firm in Manchester, is seeking an experienced Investment Portfolio Manager to act as a trusted partner for high‑value clients and advisors, delivering tailored, high‑quality portfolio solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead investment proposals and portfolio reviews for bespoke discretionary clients.
• Tailor portfolio solutions to sophisticated client needs and preferences.
• Translate client objectives into personalised investment strategies.
• Implement house investment views across discretionary mandates and model portfolios.
• Communicate the firm’s investment outlook to client advisors and produce high‑quality after‑sales content.
• Represent the full range of investment capabilities, including asset allocation, structured solutions, alternatives, equities, fixed income and direct investments.
• Support client advisors and collaborate with other teams to drive business growth.
• Contribute to strategic transformation initiatives.

Required profile

• Significant experience in an Investment Specialist or Portfolio Manager role within financial services or wealth management.
• Minimum Level 4 qualification (or equivalent professional certification).
• Strong attention to detail and a client‑centric mindset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
