Postdoctoral Research Associate – ABM & System Dynamics Modelling

About the role

The Department at King’s College London is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to lead advanced research in Agent‑Based Modelling (ABM) and system dynamics. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team focused on high‑impact projects that address complex societal challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and execute ABM and system dynamics models aligned with project objectives.
• Collect, process and analyse large, complex datasets using appropriate statistical and computational tools.
• Prepare grant proposals and contribute to the acquisition of external research funding.
• Publish research findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present results at conferences and seminars.
• Mentor and supervise graduate and undergraduate students, fostering a collaborative research environment.

Required profile

• Doctoral degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., engineering, social sciences, natural sciences).
• Demonstrated experience in designing experiments and handling complex data.
• Strong academic writing record with peer‑reviewed publications.
• Proven ability to work within interdisciplinary teams and communicate results to diverse audiences.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
