Primary Teacher (KS2) – SEN Autism Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate Primary Teacher to join a supportive SEN school in Southwark. The role focuses on KS2 pupils (Year 3) with Autism Spectrum Disorder and complex learning needs, delivering tailored lessons that promote confidence, communication and independence.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and adapt lessons to meet the individual needs of pupils with ASD and complex learning needs.
• Create and implement individual learning plans that encourage communication and independence.
• Collaborate with Speech and Language Therapists, SENCOs, and other multidisciplinary staff.
• Monitor, assess and report pupil progress against learning goals.
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching primary‑aged students, preferably in a SEN setting.
• Strong understanding of inclusive teaching and communication strategies.
• Excellent teamwork, empathy and classroom management skills.
• Passion for helping every child achieve their best.
