Principal Construction Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Principal Construction Manager to lead housing refurbishment programmes across Scotland, Northern Ireland and the north of England. This senior, permanent role reports to the Regional Contract Director(s) and requires strong technical judgement, regulatory knowledge and the ability to drive performance in a dispersed environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead safe and compliant delivery of refurbishment works across multiple regions and teams.
• Provide senior construction oversight to ensure programmes meet time, cost, quality and regulatory targets.
• Ensure full compliance with the Building Safety Act, CDM Regulations, Temporary Works procedures and statutory inspections.
• Champion health and safety on all sites, implementing safe systems of work and supporting incident investigations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with client teams, contractors and suppliers, holding them accountable for performance and compliance.
• Monitor performance, risk and compliance trends using Excel and reporting tools, and drive corrective actions.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in construction management, preferably within housing refurbishment.
• Proven ability to manage large, geographically dispersed programmes.
• Deep knowledge of the Building Safety Act, CDM Regulations and related legislation.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, able to influence internal teams and external partners.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for data analysis and reporting.
