Principal Management Accountant (B8A)

About the role

The Principal Management Accountant will join the integrated finance team of East Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership, delivering comprehensive management accountancy services in a fast‑moving NHS environment. You will work closely with multi‑professional teams to support financial decision‑making and contribute to change‑programme projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide a full management accountancy service across the HSCP.
• Build effective relationships with multi‑professional teams and advise on financial implications of change programmes.
• Assist in preparing the annual budget, forecasts, government returns, annual accounts, audits and monthly management reports.
• Deliver clear financial analysis to support senior managers and budget holders.
• Enable timely decisions on budgets, service delivery, savings and efficiencies.

Required profile

• Experience as an accountant.
• Strong technical accounting expertise.
• Understanding of HSCP governance.
• Relevant health finance background.
• Ability to provide high‑quality financial analysis for strategic and operational decisions.
