Principal Market Analyst (9‑month contract)

About the role

This 9‑month contract position supports an aerospace and defence client in the Integrated Airspace Protection (IAS) business. The Principal Market Analyst will drive market and competitor insight to shape business‑winning strategies and offer development.

Key responsibilities

• Track daily contract notices and distribute relevant information to the sales team.
• Build and maintain market forecast models to estimate size, geography and timescales.
• Generate market analysis from forecasts to inform product line managers during business case reviews.
• Profile competitors – capabilities, product offerings, pricing data and potential partners.
• Maintain the UK Strategy & Marketing Plaza BI system by screening and uploading news, reports and analyses while ensuring no classified or sensitive material is included.
• Provide usage reports and coordinate user training for the BI system.
• Support strategic business planning and MoD key account managers with market‑trend, sizing and competitive‑intensity analysis.
• Monitor competitor marketing messages and share insights with communications and strategy leads.

Required profile

• Strong research capability – able to identify the most effective approach to new problems and gather primary intelligence.
• Proficiency in advanced mathematical modelling and forecasting, creating assumptions where data is limited.
• Aptitude for spotting trends and patterns within complex data sets and translating them into clear recommendations.
