Procurement Officer – Public Sector (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Officer to join a well‑established public sector procurement function in Greater Manchester. The role offers a hybrid working model and involves delivering strategic procurement activities that drive value, efficiency, compliance and social outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Support the delivery of procurement projects across a range of service areas.
• Provide professional procurement advice and guidance to internal stakeholders.
• Manage end‑to‑end procurement exercises in line with legislation, regulations and organisational policies.
• Develop tender documentation, coordinate evaluations and support contract award processes.
• Identify procurement opportunities and deliver value‑for‑money solutions.
• Support contract and supplier management, including performance monitoring and administration.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, contract registers and supplier information.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and best‑practice procurement.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Procurement Specialist or Officer, preferably within the public sector.
• Strong knowledge of relevant procurement legislation, regulations and organisational policies.
• Ability to develop tender documentation and manage evaluation processes.
• Experience in contract and supplier performance monitoring.
