Professional Services Correspondent (London)

About the role

The Financial Times is hiring a Professional Services Correspondent for its London newsroom. The role will expand and elevate coverage of the professional services sector, focusing on how AI disruption, slower growth and regulatory scrutiny affect top consultancies and the Big Four.

Key responsibilities

• Bring in high‑profile scoops about the big professional services firms on issues such as work won and lost, financial performance, strategic changes, AI adoption, workplace culture, regulatory interventions, leadership changes and M&A.
• Deliver deeply reported analyses on the changing business models of professional services groups, their relationships with AI, tech and software firms, and their broader societal importance.
• Be the first to report on the roles of consultants in major corporate stories across other sectors, such as turnaround plans and strategic overhauls at blue‑chip companies.
• Work weekend shifts as part of the newsroom rota.
• Provide cover for other professional services reporters during absences.
