Programme Director – Building Safety Remediation (3‑Year Fixed‑Term)

About the role

Our client, a leading independent development, built asset and engineering consultancy, is seeking a Programme Director to lead a nationally significant building safety remediation programme. This is a 3‑year fixed‑term role based in Manchester, offering full ownership of delivery, governance and client relationship.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end delivery of the remediation programme across multiple workstreams covering ~400 buildings.
• Chair governance forums and represent the client at senior steering‑committee level.
• Manage statutory compliance with the Building Safety Act, BSR Gateway and Golden Thread obligations.
• Lead and develop a multi‑disciplinary matrix team of PMO staff, workstream leads and technical specialists.
• Oversee programme fee and budget performance (approximately £2.5‑£3 million per annum).
• Build and maintain a long‑term client relationship with potential for programme extension.

Required profile

• MAPM or equivalent programme/project management chartership.
• 15+ years of industry experience, including senior programme leadership.
• Proven track record delivering large, multi‑workstream programmes for major clients (real estate, insurance or building safety).
• Strong knowledge of the Building Safety Act and Higher‑Risk Building regime.
• Excellent governance, reporting and senior stakeholder management skills.
