Project Service Coach – Mental Health & Financial Support

About the role

The Mind & Money Matters service is seeking a compassionate Project Service Coach to provide early, practical support to people in Doncaster facing financial hardship, emotional strain, and emerging mental health difficulties. This part‑time, community‑based role focuses on brief, recovery‑oriented interventions and helps clients navigate the right support at the right time.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver 1‑3 session interventions offering emotional stabilisation and practical problem‑solving.
• Provide trauma‑informed, person‑centred coaching using a strengths‑based approach.
• Assist clients in building confidence, resilience, and financial stability.
• Collaborate with foodbanks, advice services, debt and benefits providers, and other community partners.
• Contribute to triage, assessment, and referral decisions within a stepped support model.
• Support low‑intensity group activities on financial wellbeing, stress management, and skill building.

Required profile

• Passionate about early intervention, prevention, and reducing inequalities.
• Ability to build trusting relationships quickly and work empathetically.
• Understanding of how poverty and financial stress impact mental health.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, community‑focused environment.
• Commitment to dignity, inclusion, collaboration, and person‑centred practice.
