Quality Engineer – Manufacturing

About the role

The Quality Engineer will ensure that manufacturing processes and products meet the highest standards within a long‑established production company. You will support the Quality Management System, drive continuous improvement and work closely with production, welding and inspection teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support and maintain the ISO 9001‑based Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor product quality across machining, welding, electropolishing and finishing, promoting a right‑first‑time culture.
• Identify quality risks and improvement opportunities, implementing preventative measures to reduce defects and waste.
• Investigate non‑conformances using structured root‑cause analysis and manage corrective and preventative actions (CAPA).
• Collaborate with machine shop, welding, production and inspection teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
• Participate in internal, customer, supplier and certification audits, supporting closure of findings.

Required profile

• HNC/HND or Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• ISO 9001 Internal Auditor qualification or willingness to obtain.
• Desirable: Quality‑related, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma qualifications, IOSH Working Safely.

What we offer

• Salary between £40,000 and £50,000 per year, dependent on experience.
• 26 days holiday plus bank holidays.
• 5% pension contribution and bonus scheme.
• Working hours: Monday‑Thursday 08:00‑16:30, Friday 08:00‑15:30.
