Quality Specialist – Naval Systems (HVAC & Fire Suppression)

About the role

Johnson Controls is looking for an experienced Quality Specialist to join its Naval Systems team in Manchester. The role focuses on ensuring the quality and compliance of HVAC, fire suppression, and fire detection systems on high‑profile naval projects across Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Create and manage Quality Assurance documentation for naval HVAC and fire systems.
• Conduct supplier inspections throughout Europe and review supplier certifications.
• Lead 8D root‑cause analysis and drive corrective‑and‑preventive actions.
• Support internal and external audits, including MOD and client reviews.
• Maintain quality metrics and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience in naval, defence, or marine engineering quality assurance.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and fire safety systems.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AQAP 2105/2110/2210 standards.
• Proven track record in supplier inspections and audit processes.
• Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
