Quantity Surveyor

About the role

Our client, an established main contractor in the West Midlands, is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of multiple office and industrial fit‑out and refurbishment projects. The role is a blend of office and site work, offering exposure to both pre‑contract and post‑contract activities across a varied project portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, manage and maintain detailed project cost plans, estimates and budgets.
• Carry out quantity take‑offs and produce Bills of Quantities for pricing and procurement.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, payments and commercial accounts.
• Monitor project variations and prepare change control documentation.
• Assist with interim valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Support contract administration under JCT and Design & Build contracts.
• Work closely with site managers, project teams and clients to ensure commercial performance.
• Maintain accurate cost reporting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.

Required profile

• Minimum 4+ years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably on fit‑out projects.
• Strong understanding of CAT A and CAT B fit‑out projects.
• Working knowledge of JCT contract forms and Design & Build frameworks.
• Degree, HNC or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred).
