Reception Teacher – Primary School (Wimbledon)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a qualified Reception Teacher for an inclusive primary school in Wimbledon, South West London. You will be responsible for delivering the Early Years National Curriculum to a mixed‑age Reception class, supporting the school’s commitment to high standards and inclusive practice.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver daily lessons for Reception pupils.
• Mark work, assess progress and provide feedback to parents at evenings.
• Manage classroom behaviour and create a safe, supportive learning environment.
• Support pupils with SEND and EAL needs, working closely with specialists.
• Maintain up‑to‑date safeguarding records and comply with all statutory requirements.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of Early Years teaching experience in the UK.
• Strong knowledge of the Early Years National Curriculum.
• Proven behaviour‑management skills.
• Extensive experience supporting SEN and EAL pupils.
• Safeguarding training completed within the last year.
• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
