Recruit Trainer – 24‑Month Secondment (Police Constable)

About the role

The British Transport Police is seeking a dedicated Police Constable to join its Learning and Development team as a Recruit Trainer on a 24‑month secondment. You will be responsible for shaping the knowledge, skills and professional values of new police recruits, ensuring they are ready to protect and serve the railway network.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver dynamic learning programmes across classroom, digital and practical environments.
• Research, design and continuously improve training materials that reflect operational realities.
• Use a variety of teaching and mentoring techniques to motivate and support recruits.
• Create an inclusive, high‑performing learning environment where every learner feels valued.

Required profile

• Current Police Constable with a genuine passion for teaching and mentoring.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage a diverse range of learners.
• Understanding of adult learning principles and experience applying them in training contexts.
• Ability to design and adapt learning content for digital and blended delivery.
