Repairs Manager – Housing Disrepair & Compliance (Contract)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Repairs Manager to lead housing disrepair, HHSRS compliance and damp‑mould remediation across our portfolio. This contract position is hybrid and offers the chance to influence health‑and‑safety outcomes while ensuring legal compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end management of housing disrepair cases, including pre‑ and post‑litigation processes.
• Ensure compliance with HHSRS, housing legislation and Awaab's Law.
• Oversee diagnosis, remediation and prevention of damp and mould.
• Manage internal teams, external contractors and specialist consultants delivering repairs and compliance works.
• Monitor service performance, budgets, KPIs and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with legal teams, surveyors, housing colleagues and residents to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Produce reports for senior management and support audits and regulatory inspections.

Required profile

• Significant experience managing housing repairs, disrepair or property compliance services.
• Strong knowledge of HHSRS, housing legislation and damp‑mould management.
• Proven ability to manage contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and problem‑solving abilities.
• Relevant qualification in Building Surveying, Construction, Housing or a related discipline (RICS/CIOB membership desirable).
