Residential Child Care Worker – Part‑time (Zero‑hour)

About the role

Pebbles Care is looking for compassionate individuals to join its zero‑hour workforce, providing flexible, part‑time support for children and young people in residential settings. You will work across several homes in the Biggar area, helping to keep children safe, supported and engaged.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children, supporting education, cooking, cleaning and recreational activities.
• Provide additional support to care teams across multiple homes, covering shifts as needed and attending at least one shift every four weeks.
• Complete a full induction, shadow shifts and training, including Therapeutic Parenting.

Required profile

• Highly responsible and accountable for safeguarding children.
• Nurturing, patient and resilient with the ability to build non‑judgmental relationships.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Full, valid UK manual driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Proficient IT skills.
• Experience using Microsoft Office packages.

What we offer

• Hourly rate of £13.13 – £13.94 plus £80 per sleep shift.
