Retail Shift Leader – Days

About the role

Join Tesco as a Shift Leader on the day shift, supporting customers and colleagues in a busy retail environment. You will help keep the store clean, well‑stocked and running smoothly while delivering a high‑quality shopping experience.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the store team during duty shifts to ensure a tidy, well‑stocked environment.
• Assist customers, answer queries and ensure they leave with what they need.
• Support colleagues by coaching, giving feedback and promoting a safe workplace.
• Monitor store performance and help managers implement improvement actions.
• Open and close the store, covering duty decisions and ensuring safety.
• Act as the go‑to person for day‑to‑day queries in the absence of a manager.
• Help organise seasonal, community and charity events.

Required profile

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Ability to work flexible hours within the advertised availability windows.
• Strong customer focus and good communication skills.
• Leadership attitude and willingness to support a diverse team.

Required skills

What we offer

• Hourly rate starting at £15.59 (up to £16.86 for stores inside the M25).
• Minimum 16 guaranteed hours per week, with flexibility down to 12 hours.
• Three‑week notice of scheduled shifts.
