School Business Manager – Primary School (Stockport)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced School Business Manager to join a medium‑sized primary school in Stockport. The role supports the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team in operational and strategic matters, ensuring smooth financial, HR and facilities management.

Key responsibilities

• Manage school finances, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
• Oversee HR functions, recruitment and personnel administration.
• Handle premises management, health & safety compliance and procurement.
• Support the Senior Leadership Team and Governors with strategic and operational planning.
• Ensure effective use of SIMS and other school data systems.
• Lead administrative and operational support functions.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a School Business Manager or senior school administration role.
• Strong financial and operational management background.
• Good understanding of school compliance, HR and safeguarding processes.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SIMS (School Information Management System).
