About the role
Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a qualified Science Teacher to cover a maternity leave at a secondary school in South East London, starting September 2026. The role offers the chance to work towards a permanent full‑time contract after the cover period.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver Science lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics for Key Stages 3, 4 and occasional Key Stage 5.
- Prepare students for GCSE examinations and support them through a busy exam period.
- Adapt teaching plans to cover the full curriculum despite a short‑term appointment.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to school-wide academic initiatives.
Required profile
- Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Comfortable teaching all three Science disciplines.
- Experience teaching KS3‑KS4, with willingness to support KS5 when needed.
- Reliability and ability to integrate quickly into an existing team.
