SEMH and Wellbeing Support Assistant

About the role

Are you passionate about supporting children's mental health and wellbeing? A welcoming primary school in Tewkesbury is looking for a caring and resilient SEMH and Wellbeing Support Assistant to support pupils who need additional help with their social, emotional and mental health development.

Key responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 support for pupils with SEMH need
• Supporting children with anxiety, emotional regulation and confidence‑building
• Delivering small‑group interventions focused on wellbeing and social skills
• Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in learning
• Building trusted relationships that help children thrive
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams

Required profile

• A patient, empathetic and resilient individual
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
• A genuine interest in child development, education or mental health
• Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals is beneficial but not essential
