Semi Senior Accountant – Loughton

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Semi Senior Accountant to join a top‑100 practice in Loughton. The role offers a full‑time, Monday‑Friday schedule and the chance to work with a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders, partnerships, LLPs, charities and groups.
• Produce and review VAT returns, bookkeeping entries and management accounts.
• Supervise and mentor junior team members, providing feedback and ensuring high performance.
• Manage client assignments within budgets and deadlines, resolving review points and delivering final files.
• Liaise with managers, partners and the Tax team to resolve queries and identify additional service opportunities.
• Maintain accurate time records, comply with CPD requirements and support departmental operations.

Required profile

• Fully AAT qualified or part‑qualified ACA/ACCA (candidates qualified by experience considered).
• Minimum three years’ experience in an accountancy practice.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational ability and capacity to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and IT literacy.
