Semi‑Senior Accountant & Tax Advisor

About the role

TPF Recruitment is supporting a forward‑thinking independent accountancy practice in Crawley. The firm uses cloud accounting, automation and modern technology, offering a supportive environment for a Semi‑Senior Accountant & Tax Advisor to develop technical expertise and client‑management skills.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare year‑end accounts under FRS102 1A and FRS105.
• Produce management accounts, VAT returns and corporation tax returns, including capital allowances.
• Complete personal tax returns covering employment, self‑employment, rental income, pensions, investments and overseas property.
• Carry out Capital Gains Tax computations for property and share disposals.
• Assist with trust tax returns and inheritance tax work where required.
• Maintain working papers, balance‑sheet reconciliations and bookkeeping assignments.
• Support clients using cloud accounting systems such as Xero, QuickBooks and Dext.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships as a primary point of contact.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or AAT part qualification, or recently qualified.
• 2‑3 years’ experience in an accountancy practice.
• Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax compliance.
• Experience preparing accounts for SMEs, limited companies and owner‑managed businesses.
• Experience preparing personal and corporation tax returns.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Proactive, technology‑focused approach and confidence to work independently.
