SEN Class Teacher – Special Needs School (Poole)

About the role
Prospero Teaching is supporting an inclusive all‑age special school in Poole that serves children and young people aged 2‑19 with complex learning difficulties, physical disabilities and life‑limiting conditions. The school seeks a compassionate SEN Class Teacher to lead a small, well‑supported class from September 2026.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality, individualised teaching to pupils with complex needs.
- Plan and deliver a multi‑sensory, highly differentiated curriculum aligned with EHCP outcomes.
- Create and adapt resources to support communication, sensory regulation and accessibility.
- Foster emotional wellbeing, communication development and independence through consistent routines.
- Collaborate with therapists, medical professionals, support staff and families to ensure coordinated, holistic care.
- Promote engagement, resilience and meaningful progress through personalised approaches.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching pupils with SEND, ideally CLDD, PMLD, physical disabilities or complex medical needs.
- Strong understanding of sensory learning, communication development and inclusive pedagogy.
- Confidence supporting pupils with medical or physical needs (training provided).
- Creative, emotionally resilient and child‑centred approach.
Required skills
What we offer
- Permanent full‑time contract (Monday‑Friday, 08:00‑16:00).
- Salary: MPR/UPR plus SEN allowance, hourly rate £14.25‑£15.25.
