SEN Teaching Assistant – Calne

About the role

This full‑time or part‑time position supports children with additional needs in a mainstream primary school in Calne. The role focuses on one‑to‑one assistance, building trusting relationships, and helping pupils engage with learning while developing confidence and emotional regulation.

Key responsibilities

• Adapt learning activities to meet each pupil’s individual needs.
• Support emotional regulation and maintain classroom engagement.
• Encourage communication, confidence and independence.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO.
• Create a positive, inclusive and structured learning environment.

Required profile

• Empathetic, patient and resilient.
• Passionate about SEN, inclusion and child development.
• Strong communicator able to build rapport quickly.
• Experience supporting children with SEN (desirable but not essential).
• Background in Education, Psychology, Care or related fields (beneficial).
