SEN Teaching Assistant – Full‑time Temporary Role in Southwark

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a secondary school in Southwark. The role is full‑time, temporary, and offers the chance to work with young people who have special educational needs, with the possibility of extension or a permanent position based on performance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils with SEN, ensuring their educational and wellbeing needs are met.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering differentiated lessons and adapting resources.
• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and any interventions.
• Support the implementation of safeguarding policies and report any concerns promptly.

Required profile

• Experience working with children and young people, preferably in an SEN setting.
• A degree (any discipline).
• Up‑to‑date safeguarding training completed within the last year.
• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS with online update service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Two professional references covering the last two years.

Required skills

• Current safeguarding training.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.
