SEN Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Full‑time)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a secondary school in Lewisham. The position is full‑time and temporary, running until the end of the academic year with the possibility of extension or a permanent offer based on performance. The school seeks an enthusiastic candidate with a can‑do attitude to support pupils with special educational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day support to SEN pupils under the guidance of the classroom teacher.
• Assist with classroom activities, behaviour management and lesson preparation.
• Maintain up‑to‑date safeguarding standards and report any concerns promptly.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure inclusive learning environments.

Required profile

• Experience working with children and young people, preferably in a SEN setting.
• A degree (any discipline).
• Safeguarding training completed within the last year.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS certificate with online update service or willingness to obtain one.
• Two professional child‑related references covering the last two years.

Required skills
