About the role
The school is seeking a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to start in September 2026. This full‑time, temporary role will lead the SEN department in a mixed secondary school in Redbridge, London.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the SEN department and manage day‑to‑day operations.
- Deliver both SEN‑specific and mainstream teaching.
- Collaborate closely with the pastoral team.
- Coach, mentor and lead staff members.
- Ensure compliance with the new SEND Code of Practice.
- Support students with a wide range of abilities and needs.
Required profile
- Teaching and leadership experience (middle leadership or above) in the secondary sector.
- National Award in SEND Coordination (NASENCO) or working towards it.
- Exceptional organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a diverse workload efficiently.
