Senior Accountant – Accountancy Practice near Heathrow

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join a well‑established accountancy practice near Heathrow. You will manage a diverse portfolio of clients, delivering statutory and management accounts, tax returns and advisory support.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the main point of contact for a portfolio of clients, maintaining strong relationships.
• Coordinate with clients to obtain financial information, resolve queries and meet deadlines.
• Prepare and review year‑end statutory accounts in line with accounting standards.
• Oversee the year‑end process, including adjustments, reconciliations and final submissions.
• Supervise and review the work of junior staff, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Allocate tasks across the team and act as escalation point for technical issues.
• Mentor junior team members through training and regular feedback.
• Provide ongoing client advisory services, including bookkeeping, VAT and management accounts.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of general practice experience with small‑ to medium‑sized companies, sole traders and partnerships.
• ACCA or ACA qualified.
• Ability to commute to an office close to Heathrow.
• Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
