Senior Associate - Large Loss Lawyer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Associate to join our specialist Complex Injury team in Lostock. The role focuses on high‑value, multi‑track personal injury claims, including catastrophic loss matters, and involves close collaboration with lead lawyers and sophisticated insurer clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of complex injury claims ranging from £100,000 to over £1 million.
• Support the Lead Lawyer on catastrophic injury matters exceeding £1 million.
• Advise insurer clients on liability, quantum, indemnity and litigation strategy.
• Draft pleadings, defences and counter‑schedules for multi‑track cases.
• Conduct forensic analysis of medical and liability evidence.
• Prepare technical advice and reserve/valuation assessments using tools such as the Ogden Tables.
• Represent clients at mediations, joint settlement meetings and conferences.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, counsel and expert witnesses.
• Mentor and support junior team members.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor, CILEX or equivalent legal professional.
• Proven experience handling high‑value, multi‑track personal injury claims.
• Strong understanding of litigation practice, case law and insurance principles.
• Excellent analytical ability and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Confident client‑facing communication skills.
