Senior Electronics Design Engineer

About the role

The Senior Electronics Design Engineer will lead the design and integration of on‑car and off‑car electronic systems for the Haas F1 Team. Based in Banbury, UK, you will work closely with the mechanical design office, suppliers and the trackside team to ensure high‑performance, reliable electronics that meet FIA regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design of harnesses, units, sensors and other assemblies, ensuring performance, reliability and compliance with FIA, FOM and supplier requirements.
• Specify and develop electronics systems for instrumentation and measurements, producing installation manuals and supporting trackside installation.
• Investigate faults, generate reports and work with Reliability Engineers to devise mitigation solutions for on‑car and off‑car components.
• Drive continuous improvement of design standards, operational processes and pre‑season car build activities.

Required profile

• University degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering with several years of experience in high‑technology electronics development, preferably in motorsport.
• Proven ability to handle high‑pressure environments, maintain composure during race weekends and adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
• Strong integrity and discretion when managing confidential technical information.
• Team‑oriented mindset with willingness to mentor junior staff and collaborate across disciplines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD tools such as Catia/3DX.
• PCB design experience using Altium.
• Embedded programming in C; knowledge of C# and VBA is advantageous.
• Solid command of Microsoft Office applications.
