Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

The Senior Legal Counsel will own the commercial contracting for data, technology and market infrastructure services, support advisory work that underpins group growth and protect the company’s legal, contractual and intellectual property interests across multiple regulated jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts for data supply, software licences, SaaS, API and managed services with betting operators, gaming businesses and financial institutions.
• Negotiate and manage vendor agreements, reseller, distribution and technology partner contracts, including hosting and infrastructure procurement.
• Protect and commercialise official data rights and intellectual property, advising on agreements with sports governing bodies and managing trademark and domain portfolios.
• Provide regulatory legal support for entry into and operation within gambling and gaming jurisdictions, producing analysis and guiding licensing requirements.
• Advise on UK and EU GDPR compliance, draft data processing agreements and support breach response and data‑subject‑rights handling.
• Oversee contractual disputes, IP enforcement and corporate governance matters, including due diligence for acquisitions and strategic partnerships.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor in England and Wales or equivalent common‑law jurisdiction with 4‑6 years post‑qualification experience.
• Proven ability to draft and negotiate technology, data or software licensing agreements independently from first draft to signature.
• Experience advising businesses operating across multiple regulated jurisdictions, preferably in gambling, betting, gaming or sports data sectors.
• Strong commercial judgement with the capacity to assess risk, provide clear advice and know when to escalate issues.
