Senior Litigation Associate - Remote

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Litigation Associate (or Legal Director) to join one of the UK’s leading education litigation practices. The role is fully remote and involves representing universities, further education colleges and private education providers across a diverse range of disputes.

Key responsibilities

• Act for higher‑education institutions on student breach of contract, Equality Act, judicial review, consumer law and regulatory matters.
• Manage a full caseload from instruction through to resolution, advising senior client stakeholders on legal, commercial and reputational implications.
• Conduct litigation strategy, drafting pleadings, motions and case management documents in accordance with the Civil Procedure Rules.
• Engage directly with litigants‑in‑person, balancing technical expertise with empathy and clear communication.
• Collaborate with senior members of the practice to develop and refine litigation approaches.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in civil litigation.
• Proven ability to handle complex disputes independently.
• Strong understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules and court practice.
• Experience advising institutional clients on commercial and regulatory issues is advantageous.

Required skills

• Expertise in civil litigation procedures and case management.
• Knowledge of student, education and consumer dispute law.
• Ability to draft pleadings, statements of case and judicial review applications.
