Senior Manager, Regulatory Inspections and Strategic Response

About the role

We are looking for a senior leader to own and drive Checkout.com’s regulatory inspections and high‑impact strategic responses. Reporting to the Director of External Affairs, you will manage both planned regulatory examinations and unplanned, time‑critical incidents that affect the business.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end regulatory inspections, set strategy, manage timelines, coordinate evidence gathering and prepare senior stakeholders for regulator engagement.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the business and regulators, controlling disclosures and safeguarding confidential information.
• Lead rapid response to sensitive, escalated situations, establishing facts, assessing risk, securing decisions and driving resolution.
• Conduct post‑mortems after each engagement and implement continuous‑improvement actions.
• Build the function from the ground up, develop operating models, playbooks and hire a small specialist team by 2027.

Required profile

• Significant experience managing regulatory inspections and engagements, preferably in payments or fintech.
• Methodical, meticulous project‑management approach with a track record of staying calm under pressure.
• Commercially pragmatic, able to balance regulatory, financial and reputational risk with business objectives.
• Excellent stakeholder management – credible with regulators, trusted by executives and effective across functions and geographies.
• People‑management experience or clear readiness to build and lead a team.
• Impeccable written communication skills.
