Senior Python & Rust Engineer – Core Development

About the role

This senior position sits at the heart of a global high‑frequency trading firm, combining the agility of a start‑up with the stability of an established player. You will develop and maintain core infrastructure and applications using Python and Rust, while mentoring junior engineers and driving technical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and optimise Python and Rust services across multiple functional areas.
• Coordinate critical projects, ensuring timely delivery and high quality.
• Mentor and grow junior talent within the core development team.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to solve complex technical challenges.
• Contribute to best‑practice coding standards, data architecture and software design.

Required profile

• Minimum 4+ years of hands‑on Python development experience.
• Proven experience in tech leadership or mentoring roles.
• Strong understanding of data architecture, software design and test‑driven development.
• Experience with relational or columnar databases.
• Rust experience is desirable, but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with messaging systems such as Kafka is a plus.
• Not suitable for fresh graduates.
