About the role
We are seeking a Service Charge & Rent Officer to lead the administration and communication of service charges and rent for over 7,000 homes, freeholders and garages. The role involves working closely with internal departments and external managing agents to ensure accurate billing and regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Liaise with Housing, Asset and other departments to gather data for budgeting and cost allocation.
- Issue annual rent and service charge statements in line with regulatory requirements and best practice.
- Provide clear, transparent breakdowns of charges to tenants and respond to queries.
- Ensure compliance with the Leasehold Reform Act, Section 20 consultation processes and other housing legislation.
- Prepare and deliver annual service charge certificates and related statutory reports.
- Maintain accurate billing arrangements for estate‑based charges and utilities.
Required profile
- Degree level or equivalent professional qualification, with evidence of continued professional development.
- Working towards or holding CIH Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification.
- Demonstrable experience in service charge and rent administration within housing associations or property management.
- Knowledge of complex variable service charges, sinking funds, and diverse rent regimes.
- Understanding of leasehold management, welfare benefits and customer‑facing operational management.
Required skills
- Proficiency with housing management software and systems used for service charge billing and reporting.
What we offer
- Competitive salary of £39,330 per annum.
- Permanent, full‑time role (37 hours per week) based in Long Stratton, Norfolk.
