Service Engineer – Machine Tools

About the role

Join a leading specialist forging manufacturer as a Service Engineer working on a wide range of machine tools and production equipment. You will be based in a Birmingham workshop, supporting a rotating days shift to keep critical machinery running safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on machine tools and production equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Respond to breakdowns promptly to minimise production downtime.
• Work within a permanent rotating days shift (06:00‑16:00 Mon‑Thu / 06:00‑14:00 Mon‑Fri).

Required profile

• Experience as a Service or Maintenance Engineer with a machine‑tool or heavy‑industrial background.
• Ability to commute to Birmingham.
• Strong focus on safety, reliability and continuous improvement.
