Service Manager

About the role

HydraForce, a global designer and manufacturer of motion control and hydraulic solutions, is seeking a Service Manager to lead its Warranty Department from its Birmingham facility. The role ensures warranty claims are handled efficiently, supports customers on production sites, and drives continuous improvement across product and service processes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Warranty Department to meet RMA response targets.
• Develop and maintain relationships with manufacturing, production engineering, supply management, quality and warranty teams.
• Visit customer production facilities to resolve recurring production issues and propose design modifications or cost‑reduction opportunities.
• Support transition of parts from prototype to production, participate in customer print reviews and production readiness reviews.
• Review supplier quality and delivery non‑conformances, negotiate quality metrics and facilitate resolution of PPAP/ISIR queries.
• Analyse warranty trends, conduct root‑cause analysis using OEM problem‑solving techniques and HydraForce 8D process, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with OEM customers and internal sales to coordinate warranty projects requiring engineering support.

Required profile

• Strong background in warranty or service management within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Experience working with OEM customers and handling complex technical warranty claims.
• Ability to build effective cross‑functional relationships and communicate technical information clearly.
• Proven analytical skills to identify trends and drive cost‑reduction initiatives.

Required skills

• Knowledge of PPAP and ISIR processes.
• Familiarity with 8D problem‑solving methodology.
• Understanding of hydraulic systems and motion‑control products.
