Site Agent – Civils (Water & Wastewater)

About the role

Our client, a leading civil engineering contractor in Scotland, is looking for an experienced Site Agent to join their Water & Wastewater delivery team. You will lead multiple schemes, ensuring safe, on‑time and on‑budget delivery while maintaining high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the safe delivery of water, wastewater and civil engineering projects, taking ownership of programmes and milestones.
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors to optimise project execution and drive productivity.
• Manage site teams, supervise staff and ensure full compliance with SHEQ policies through regular inspections and audits.
• Control project costs, monitor risks, raise Early Warning Notices and support compensation events.
• Build strong relationships with clients, authorities, supply‑chain partners and the local community.
• Support self‑delivery workforces and champion continuous improvement across projects.

Required profile

• Essential civil engineering degree, HNC/HND or equivalent.
• Significant experience in civil infrastructure projects, preferably as a Site Agent or Site Manager.
• Proven programme management, risk mitigation and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Full UK driving licence and commercial awareness of cost control and reporting.

Required skills

• SMSTS certification
• NRSWA Supervisor qualification
• Knowledge of NEC contracts
• Temporary Works Coordinator qualification
