Skilled Production Operative (Manufacturing)

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Production Operative to join our fast‑growing sheet‑metal manufacturing business in Huddersfield. You will work across multiple departments, supporting assembly, material handling and machining activities as required.

Key responsibilities

• Float between production, assembly and fabrication areas to meet daily targets.
• Perform assembly operations, material control, cutting, drilling, tapping and process verification.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives and help maintain high quality standards.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure timely delivery of finished modules.
• Undertake any additional duties assigned by the line manager to support business objectives.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and a conscientious work attitude.
• Ability to concentrate for extended periods, especially on repetitive tasks.
• Positive, “can‑do” mindset and pride in completing a good job.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills to follow written and verbal instructions.

Required skills

• Experience using power tools and hand tools.
• Experience working in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
