Software Developer – Financial Services (Newcastle)

About the role

We are looking for a Software Developer to join our Newcastle‑upon‑Tyne team, delivering bespoke technology solutions for banking and financial services clients. The role is full‑time and based on‑site, offering the chance to work on a variety of projects from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Engage directly with users, stakeholders and subject‑matter experts to gather requirements and design pragmatic solutions.
• Take early responsibility for high‑quality, end‑to‑end software delivery.
• Partner with client teams to deliver products and projects collaboratively.
• Challenge existing systems and processes, driving technical excellence and innovation.
• Stay up‑to‑date with industry and technology trends.

Required profile

• Strong programming background with extensive experience in C#/.NET, Java, Rust or Python.
• Passion for technology and a willingness to work in a flexible, integrated team.
• Proactive, ownership‑driven attitude and ability to solve complex problems.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
• Financial‑services experience is a plus but not essential.
• Minimum 2:1 degree in Computer Science or a related discipline (Russell Group preferred) and strong A‑Levels or equivalent.
