Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

About the role

AVEVA is seeking a motivated Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join its 3DVis Cloud team. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality 3D visualisation and XR cloud streaming technologies for the company’s industrial software portfolio, ensuring both cloud and on‑premises solutions meet rigorous standards of quality, robustness and security.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with developers, DevOps and fellow SDETs to define, implement and execute functional and non‑functional test coverage for assigned features.
• Design, write and maintain automated tests in C# using existing frameworks and team patterns.
• Own automated test execution, investigate failures, reduce flaky tests and drive issues to resolution within a CI environment.
• Utilise Azure DevOps Test Plans for regression testing and Azure DevOps Pipelines for deploying test environments.
• Identify gaps in test coverage, propose new test cases or automation improvements and share best practices.
• Investigate production issues and contribute preventative improvements to maintain production quality.

Required profile

• Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and the role of testing in delivery.
• Proven experience in functional testing within a professional software environment, with exposure to reliability, performance or security testing.
• Ability to take ownership of test coverage for specific features and work items.
• Team‑oriented mindset and comfort working in a scaled‑agile (SAFe) scrum team.
