Software Engineer – Build Energy Infrastructure

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to help build the core infrastructure that connects distributed energy devices, orchestrates their operation, and enables participation in electricity markets. You will work on product engineering, devops, and data engineering in a fast‑moving, mission‑driven environment focused on decarbonising the energy system.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement backend services that communicate with vehicle chargers, heating systems, and home batteries.
• Develop and maintain deployment pipelines using Docker and Google Cloud Platform.
• Collaborate with clients, users, and market operators to gather feedback and refine product features.
• Own end‑to‑end problem spaces, from domain understanding to shipping production‑ready code.
• Contribute to data‑driven features such as machine‑learning forecasts for energy demand.

Required profile

• Self‑motivated generalist comfortable working across product, devops, and data engineering.
• Strong sense of ownership and ability to deliver outcomes quickly.
• Enjoys a flat organisational structure and direct interaction with stakeholders.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Docker containerisation.
• Google Cloud Platform (GCP) deployment.
