SOX Controls & Reporting Manager – Temporary (UK)

About the role

The SOX Controls & Reporting Manager will be based in the UK and work on a 9‑12 month fixed‑term contract. You will be the primary point of contact for tax‑related Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) controls, ensuring they are properly designed, documented and audit‑ready while supporting the Group’s income tax reporting and operational tax activities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, operate and maintain SOX‑aligned tax reporting processes and documentation.
• Produce and update tax process narratives, risk and control matrices and SOX workpapers.
• Standardise regional calendars, checklists and templates to improve efficiency.
• Review control deficiencies, assess severity and coordinate remediation with tax teams.
• Support quarterly and annual tax provision processes, ensuring SOX controls function effectively.
• Collaborate with local tax advisors to validate assumptions and document judgments.
• Drive standardisation, automation and continuous improvement of tax SOX compliance.
• Provide training and guidance on SOX requirements to process owners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax or a related discipline.
• 3‑4 years of corporate tax experience.
• Hands‑on experience in a SOX/internal‑controls environment, including documentation and audit readiness.
• Knowledge of income tax provision concepts and reporting under U.S. GAAP or IFRS.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work with finance teams and external tax advisors across multiple jurisdictions.
